As the end of the year approaches, our Heights Venture team gathered for one of our most anticipated yearly events—the annual company meeting. This tradition brings together employees from our three offices—Dallas, Chicago, and Houston—for a day of reflection, inspiration, and connection. This year, we had the pleasure of hosting the event in our Houston office, welcoming our Dallas and Chicago colleagues for a day full of engaging presentations and activities.
As is the custom, the day began with our version of a "state of the company" address. This year’s presentations were led by our CEO, Scott Roselius, offering an insightful overview of our achievements in the past year. It was inspiring to hear about the growth we’ve experienced as a firm, the projects that have challenged and defined us, and the progress we’ve made toward our future goals.
One unique aspect of this year's meeting was the introduction of interactive stations. Spread across our Houston office, each station was manned by either a Principal or a member of our Admin team, where they shared highlights from their respective departments and outlined their plans for the upcoming year. This format allowed for more personal interactions, giving our staff a chance to engage in smaller, more focused conversations with leadership.
Andy Phan, a local photographer, joined us in the morning, and all employees had the opportunity to update their headshots—an important detail for anyone in architecture, where having a polished, professional image can make a big difference. The energy in the room was electric as our team members lined up for their moment in front of the camera, ready to capture their best look!
No company gathering would be complete without a bit of fun. For lunch, we had Asian Fusion, catered by Wokker. Afterward, our Admin Assistant, Ashley, took center stage as the lively host of a few rounds of bingo. Let’s just say the competition was fierce, and the laughter echoed through the office as team members battled it out for bingo bragging rights.
The day wrapped up with a lively raffle drawing. Throughout the day, employees had the opportunity to win raffle tickets that they then applied to the chance to win a variety of prizes. The awards ranged from an RTIC cooler to new Bluetooth headphones to a board game starter kit. The anticipation was palpable as each prize was awarded to the winner whose ticket was pulled from the hat.
Beyond the presentations and games, what made this day truly special was the opportunity to spend time with our colleagues from all three offices. As our firm continues to grow, these moments of connection help solidify the bonds that make Heights Venture more than just a workplace—they remind us that we’re a team working toward a shared vision.
Here’s to another successful year at Heights Venture, we look forward to everything 2025 has in store for us!
